Vase For Mosses
/
"VASE FOR MOSSES" integrates mosses into human lifestyle through pottery designed to harmonize with spaces and highlight lesser-known aspects of mosses. This not only deepens our understanding of bryophytes but also fosters coexistence in human living spaces.
Concept Explanation : 01 - No Exsitence Of Feeling
/
The concept challenges the centralization of the main character in the vase, opting for unique spots for mosses based on their characteristics. Gradient color represents the mosses' invisible yet supportive role in daily life.
Concept Explanation : 02 - It Is Diversity
/
The form concept uses a magnifying glass to observe mosses, revealing their diversity and unique traits. By employing similar colors in a malleable clay body, diverse hues can only be detected through careful observation, representing moss species diversity.
Reason For Choosing Ceramic : Different Form But Same Elements
/
Ceramics, common in modern life, retain natural form and color. As they originate from dust, mosses' natural habitat, I use ceramics to seamlessly merge mosses into contemporary living.
Design Process : Initial Sketch
/
Drawing from multiple outdoor experiences, I developed ideas by initially sketching to highlight their observed features.
Design Process : Color Experiment
/
I blend china clay with varying proportions of Chrome Oxide and Cobalt Oxide to discover colors suitable for modern living spaces, reflecting both form and concept simultaneously.
Design Process : Protoypes
/
Trying different combinations of glaze, form, and color, I aimed to find the appropriate balance to align with the initial concepts.
Design Process : Making + Experimenting Process
Indiviual Work : 2023 02 - 06         Size : 13 x 14 x 16 cm, 10.5 x 10.5 x 6 cm        Material : Chrome Oxide, Cobalt Oxide, Porcelain Clay
